Carved from an early period when the artist lived in Rankin Inlet, this chunky torso evokes the same raw emotion as his much larger compositions. He was known to do some more refined animals, and some brutalist figures. The gouged facial features are juxtaposed by a streamlined body/hood. Purchased directly from the artist in 1965
