Closely related to the sculpture chosen to posted the front of the most important publication in Inuit Art, Hunter with Bear may have been carved by the same hand around the same time.  While a way of life and survival for traditional Inuit, the subject of hunting is often polarizing in current southern opinions.  This has influenced the market for traditional Inuit hunting scenes to an extent.  Hunter with Bear narrates a hunter getting the upper hand in a very dangerous struggle.  It is a very authentic depiction of Inuit life and a very skilled carving filled with movement and open details on a hefty scale.
